“Jun-kun~?”
Jun turned around when he heard a voice behind him. His eyes caught her immediately. She was small, almost fragile, with cute big eyes, and long hair. Jun stifled a sigh. Another word for plain. She was exactly the type of girl he would invite out for an evening if he had to show up with a girl somewhere. It would be pleasant to talk to her for a few hours, but for everything else, she would be too boring. “Yes, that’s me.”
She bowed a bit. “I’m Yuri.”
“What a cute name.” Jun smiled teasingly, making her blush deeply.
Jun had to smile a bit at that. She was obviously the shy type, which was at least something really likeable.
“Would you…” she cleared her throat. “…dance with me… Later?”
“Of course.” Jun nodded his head friendlily.
Her eyes gleamed as she walked away, making Jun sigh. He just couldn’t understand why they were all crushing on him. But then he shoved these thoughts aside, walking through the rooms and checking on the guests.
Jun was actually searching for him. His father had asked him to look for Satoshi and keep an eye on him and become his friend. And truth was that Jun was glad he had something to do at this party. He hated gatherings like this one, where only what you were wearing and with whom you came mattered.
Jun had thought he would need to search for a while to find him but, to his surprise, found him almost immediately. He was standing at the bar, looking very lost, and was the only one who looked as if he didn’t belong.
Jun sighed a bit, remembering his own struggles, and felt pity towards this young guy. He nodded to himself, grabbing a glass of champagne and began to approach him when he heard some noises right next to him.
Some noises coming from a bunch of girls. Hyenas which had sensed fresh flesh.
One of the girls eyed Ohno up and down, “He seems a bit boring.”
“But he is rich…” the second one intervened.
“Yes.” A third one mused. “Though he looks really plain. Do you think he’s stupid?”
“Who cares? As long as he’s got money…”
“Yeah.” another one mumbled. “Just imagine marrying into the Ohno family dynasty!”
Jun frowned deeply at that. He hated these kinds of girls who only chased after money and fame. He was about to turn around and tell them that they were the stupid ones, when his eyes caught the slender figure of a beautiful young woman. He grinned a bit, glad that someone else was doing the dirty work for him. And really, she faced the girls sternly, looking at them in annoyance.
“Do you think any proper man would marry such disrespectful and characterless girls like you? Ohno-sama just found his grandson, and he definitely won’t let the wedding bells ring immediately.” She paused. “You should really learn to treat people for who they are and not for what they own. Otherwise you might never marry a humble and good guy, like Ohno-sama’s grand-son, or an earnest and ambitious guy like Jun-kun.”
Jun grinned a bit when he saw how the girls were almost threatened to death, immediately apologizing and running away from her. He grabbed a second glass of champagne, approaching the young woman. “My, my, Sakura… what a pleasant surprise! I think I just met the only woman here I like…”
Sakura smiled at him, taking the glass and accepting the arm he was offering her. “What are you doing here, Jun?”
“Maybe I was just searching for the prettiest girl in this room?”
Sakura laughed. “Well, you’ve just found her.” she joked back. “What are you planning to do with her?”
“I’ll drag her to Satoshi-kun so that we can chat with the poor guy and defend him from the girls’ claws.”
“Great.” Sakura smiled. “I always wanted to have a knight around me.”
“Well.” Jun grinned. “Now’s your chance.” He looked around. “Where is my best friend?”
“Which one?” Sakura asked innocently.
“As far as I am concerned, you just got engaged to one of my friends.” Jun pulled an eyebrow up teasingly. “Or is there something I don’t know.”
Sakura smiled. “Sho-kun got a call. He’ll be back in a minute.”
“Good.” Jun smiled a bit. “Enough time to steal you away.”
Sakura snuggled against him when he put an arm around her shoulder. “Where are the others?”
“Masaki and Nino are having a class. They’ll come later.” Jun explained, smirking a bit. “Talking about Masaki, we really need to find a girl like you for him…”
Sakura chuckled. “I don’t think Masaki would be ready for someone like me.”
“You might be right.” Jun mused.
“What about finding a girl for you?” Sakura teased.
“Well, I don’t think I’ll marry anytime soon.” Jun answered honestly.
Sakura chuckled. “Don’t let that our father hear that.”
Jun smiled a bit. “Don’t worry. I won’t. And if I ever tell anyone, then it’ll be our mother. She’ll be able to declare it to our father when the time is right.”
“She’s a good woman.” Sakura smiled. “Hopefully I’ll become just like her.”
Jun smiled a bit. “You shouldn’t tell that Sho. He might get scared.” He paused, looking at Sakura warmly. “I like your dress by the way.”
“No, you don’t.” Sakura chuckled. “You hate green. I read it in your latest article about Tokyo’s fashion week.”
“Well…” Jun’s eyes sparkled almost angrily. “I have nothing against green, to be honest. But one of the designers working there was together with Masaki and cheated on him. It’s just my revenge for the sake of my friend.” He paused when they approached Ohno, letting go of Sakura’s arm to wave at him. “You’re Satoshi-kun, right?”
“Yes.” Ohno shifted around a bit, wondering what he should do to feel less uncomfortable. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Jun chuckled, making a dismissive gesture with his hand. “Drop the formalities already.” He smiled when he saw how Ohno looked at him thankfully. “I’m Jun. And this is my sister Sakura.”
Ohno looked at Sakura nervously when he greeted her, making Jun grin. “Don’t worry. She won’t approach you in any kind of romantic way. She’s engaged.”
“Thank god.” Ohno sighed in relief, making Sakura chuckle a bit.
“They were giving you a hard time, am I right?” she asked sympathetically.
“Like you wouldn’t believe…” Ohno mumbled.
“Oh.” Jun raised his eyebrows. “Trust me, I will believe.”
Ohno smiled a bit, happy that he had at least found one person here that was treating him normally.
“So…” Jun smiled. “How did you like your apartment?”
“It’s great.” Ohno tilted his head a bit, before his eyes widened. “Oh right, your father was involved in the design process, right?”
Jun chuckled. “Yes, he’s your grandfather’s best friend. And since your old man was totally freaking out when he found out you were coming here, he helped him out.” He smiled a bit. “I told my father to not buy any furniture.”
Ohno chuckled slightly. “I’m really thankful for that!” He smiled a bit. “Just the art studio...”
“Yeah.” Jun smiled. “Your grandfather heard that you want to become an artist. So he hired some specialists to build that room for you. He likes art too, you know.”
“Really?” Ohno asked in surprise. He shook his head a bit, wondering how this man, who was so nice and warm towards him, had been so harsh towards his father. He frowned. What had happened between these two men back then? Was it really all because of his mother?
Jun leaned back a bit, checking Ohno’s face properly. He wasn’t exactly pretty, but there was something humble and soft about him. It made people feel calm and comfortable. He was almost a bit mysterious. “So…” He looked at Ohno curiously. “Any idea what kind of furniture you want?”
“Honestly?” Ohno blushed a bit. “I have no clue where to begin.”
Jun smiled warmly. “I can help you if you want.”
“Really?” Ohno asked in surprise, but then he shook his head. “I can’t ask for your help like that.”
“Oh dear.” Jun rolled his eyes in frustration. “You didn’t ask for my help, I offered it. Just be glad that you’ve already found such a gorgeous friend like me.”
Ohno had to smile at that. Something about Jun made him feel at ease almost all the time. He just didn’t understand why this guy was approaching him at all… Everyone wanted to be Jun’s friend, but he was sticking with him here. “Why?” he asked carefully. “You could hang out with everyone in this room. Why me?”
Jun’s gaze became almost sad. “I’m tired of it all…” he mumbled, his eyes getting darker than usual and Ohno couldn’t help but feel sad for him. “I hate to fake things. And I hate fake people.”
Ohno nodded his head. He could understand that. “Thanks.” he told Jun suddenly. “I’ll be accepting your help gladly.”
Jun blinked for a few seconds before a bright and warm smiled curled around his lips. He turned around to look at Sakura. “So, anywhere to go?”
She smiled a bit. “Isn’t there that small garden house close to the lake?”
Ohno frowned. “We have a lake?”
For a moment Sakura and Jun exchanged glances before they burst into laughter. “You didn’t even look at your grandfather’s whole property?” Sakura asked in amusement.
“It’s so big here.” Ohno stuttered. “A bit overwhelming.”
“We understand, don’t worry.” Jun smiled, before he faced Sakura again. “Sounds good. So, I’ll take Satoshi-kun along and call Masaki and Nino. And you…” He made a meaningful pause. “…go and get your sexy and irresistible fiancée.”
Ohno had to hide a grin when he saw how Sakura blushed, feeling a bit relieved that at least he would have a bit of fun tonight.
Jun frowned suddenly, looking at Sakura insistently. “But don’t let him do anything dirty to you…”
Sakura blushed again, before she glared at him. “Really Jun, I am not saving myself for marriage, you know that!”
Jun tilted his head, looking at her thoughtfully. Then his eyes widened. “Does that mean you and Sho are having sex!?”
Sakura stared at her brother in shock, slowly realizing that she might have given away too much. Before the conversation could continue, she looked at Ohno with a beg for help in her eyes.
Ohno reacted immediately. “So…” he coughed. “Is it really okay if I’ll leave this party?”
“Believe me.” Jun smiled a bit. “No one will miss us.”
“Well.” Ohno chuckled slightly. “At least I know that they won’t miss me.”
“Good.” Jun turned around to the bar, ordering a few bottles of champagne, before they took some plates of food and disappeared.
When Ohno stepped out into the garden, taking a few breaths, he almost felt free. “It’s beautiful here.” he mused.
“Just wait and see how beautiful it is.” Jun smiled. “Your old man has amazing taste. He always liked nature so much…” He touched Ohno’s arm. “Come.”
Ohno nodded his head, following the latter over a small path. For a moment they kept just walking, without saying anything. Ohno secretly wondered how huge this garden could possibly be and if it would ever end. Just when he was about to ask, Jun held out his hand, helping Ohno to climb up a rock. Ohno’s eyes widened at the scene in front of him.
The lake.
For a moment Ohno just stood there, taking in the scenery front of him. Jun smiled at that. “Told you.” he mumbled silently. He paused. “He is not a bad guy…”
“What?” Ohno blinked.
“He is not a bad guy.” Jun repeated.
For a few seconds Ohno wondered what Jun had meant, before he blinked. “You mean my grandfather?” He paused. “But he…” he didn’t continue his sentence, not sure what to say anymore. Should he talk about his father? About the messed up relationship his parents had had with his grandfather? That his grandfather had never looked for him though he was his grandson? Not until his parents died…
“I think we should be careful before we judge someone prematurely.” Jun told him calmly, as if he was reading Ohno’s thoughts.
“What do you mean?”
But Jun didn’t answer. He merely pointed at the little house next to lake. The moment Ohno saw it, he knew that he would love this place. He smiled a bit, eyes sparkling slightly. So…there was actually a chance for this evening to turn into something fun.

I'm glad you like Jun's sister! :D And yes, she is having sex with Sho... OMG :D
Yes, Jun and the others are quite nice and open-minded towards Ohno.
Well, we'll see how this is going to continue...
Thanks so much for your comment!! *HUGGLES*

Oh, the air between Jun and Ohno is so nice! *__* I very much like the light mood they're in. It's nice they get along immediately. And LOL! Already a romantic setting with lake and all - and first physical contact. XDDD (Do I turn into a crazed girl, who will freak over holding hands? ^^" )
Haha, Jun's sister is fun. I totally like her. :D We need more girls like her, really. ^^ (Stupid gold diggers, just get lost.) Oh and she's to be married to Sho. Somehow I can imagine him to be like the perfect house-keeping husband, while his wife coordinates. XDDDD
Aw, seems like Jun's feeling bothered. He's being too popular. ^^" Poor boy. It must be annoying, especially when you know that if the girls aren't after your looks, they're after your family's status and money. D: Well, should best mate within his own kind then, I suppose? ^_~
Oh dear, I wonder if coming out will be a topic here? The story doesn't really indicate it, but still... the mentions of Jun's dad had me think it might be difficult. Plus, for the male heir of such a family, it might well be bothersome.
Weh, so much happening here. Can't wait for more! :D Tahnks a lot for sharing this!!! <3<3<3

Right ahead, I want to make you a compliment: You are a very sharp reader. I don't want to spoil anything, but coming out... might become a problem. Not saying when and how and if, but I just wanted to tell you that I loved it that you were so sharp here!!
I think if people are only after your looks and money, you will get annoyed at one point. When will you know that someone actually likes you for who you are and not for what you own?
Thanks so much for your amazing comment!!!! *HUGGLES*

It's true, if you make some bad experience, you'll get annoyed. At the same time, you're in danger of growing bitter and if you're not careful, it's possible you start hurting people for no reason, just in case. I don't think Jun's there, but it's something that can happen in such a situation. I'm wishing them the best. ^^

I also like how Jun is trying to tell Ohno not to judge his grandfather so quickly. There is something in the way you write Jun that makes me want to trust him. :D Anyway thanks for this, i enjoyed it.
Hugs, hearts, and telling off the mean girls at the party--go Sakura go.:D:D:D<3<3<3

Thanks so much for reading!! *huggles*
