Kame stared at the letter of the professor in high concentration. There was something off, he knew that. Just what? It wasn’t about the first part… about Yamamoto-sensei’s reasons… they were clear. There was nothing off. At least nothing that Kame could sense at the moment.
Just… at the end… at the last part, there was something. Kame closed his eyes a bit, rubbing over them. He should be sleeping, he knew that. But he couldn’t. It was already morning, three hours after he had brought Ryo back home.
He wanted to call Jin and ask him about how things were at home. He wanted to hear his voice, he wanted to meet him. But right now he simply couldn’t. Jin for sure needed some time to gather his senses.
Kame rubbed over his head, sighing when he heard his private phone ringing. He already knew who it was, because that was what the phone was for… and he hated it. But not answering was not an option either.
The same call like at the day he had had dinner with Jin and his friends and family. Kame sighed when he answered the phone. “Yes Sir?”
“You are at home?” he could hear his father’s voice.
“Yes.”
The man stayed quiet. “Kazuya… you are still searching for her?” he said silently, sounding both amused and intimidating. “Didn’t you have enough?”

When Yuu woke up early in the morning and stumbled downstairs, cursing himself for falling asleep, he found Jin sitting in front of a plate with burnt beef tortillas. “Jin!” he blurt out, immediately awake. “What happened!? They didn’t find him!????”
“They did.” Jin mumbled tiredly. “He is back.”
“Eh…” Yuu blinked, not understanding Jin’s gloomy mood. “Well, isn’t that good?”
“Yes it is, I’m so relieved.” Jin admitted.
“But?” Yuu asked impatiently.
“We had a fight.” Jin explained reluctantly.
Yuu rolled his eyes. “Gorgeous. And?”
“I think I slapped him.”
“It’s getting better and better. That’s even worse than what I expected.” Yuu mumbled, sitting down with a cup of coffee in his hands. “And what did you fight about?”
“I’m not sure.” Jin admitted. “I kinda snapped. But he came home…and was so cold towards me… and he didn’t give me any answers. The only thing he did was blaming me for not even picking him up when Kazuya found him. Like I didn’t care…”
Yuu sighed a bit. “After all that happened between you two, I can’t really blame him for that.” he finally told Jin. “Jin…what was your whole attitude form the last weeks about? I don’t get it…”
Jin bit his lips. “The situation was, or rather is, more dangerous than we thought it would be. The case we are investigating seems to be a political case. Someone was murdered, you know? A man we wanted to interrogate. Well, yesterday we found out that it apparently was really just suicide. But despite that the case is really tricky and dangerous. I don’t want to put any danger on Ryo and also not on you. The man that attacked Ryo apparently is from a political organisation. He or they even sent me threatening letter, concerning Ryo. That’s why I was so tensed up and moody.”
Yuu stayed quiet for a moment, trying to grasp everything Jin was saying. “Jin…” he mumbled when he finally saw the difficult situation. He sighed, touching Jin’s arm affectionately. “I wished you had been honest to us from the beginning on. Really… I started to believe that you are a complete douche. I couldn’t follow you at all… Now I understand of course.”
“I know…” Jin sighed. “Ryo looked at me through such angry and disappointed eyes… Sometimes he even looked as if he was scared…”
Yuu shrugged helplessly. “Well you were a bit scary, you know?”
“What am I supposed to do now?”
“Stop being a douche and be the good-hearted and caring older brother and best friend again.” Yuu told him bluntly. “Really… you were almost unbearable.”
“Sorry.” Jin smiled warily. “You were telling me that in different words quite often, right?”
“Yes.” Yuu smiled. “Next time you get into this mood, I will hit you…”
“Alright.” Jin agreed. “You have my okay to do so.” He stood up. “I need to talk to my brother.”
“Wow.” Yuu grinned. “Took you long enough to figure that out!” He glared, sounding almost heartless. “Good luck.”
Jin opened the door to Ryo’s room carefully, peeking into the room. “Hey…” Ryo was sitting at his desk, writing something. When he didn’t even look at Jin or answered him, Jin touched his shoulder slightly before he sat down at the edge of his bed.
“Go away.” Ryo mumbled.
“No.” Jin shook his head, shifting around nervously. He was bad at such things, really. Apologizing wasn’t really his forte. “I’m so sorry, Ryo. Really.”
Ryo stayed quiet for a moment, then he shook his head as if he wanted to convince himself. “I don’t care.”
“I don’t believe you. Of course you care.” Jin smiled warily. “Right? You do care…”
Ryo frowned angrily at that. “NO! Go away.”
“No way! I can’t.” Jin stroked through his thick brown hair, shifting around nervously. “Can’t we talk to each other about everything?”
“Oh dear.” Ryo got up, walking to his sofa and dropping down there. “I should have locked my door...”
“But…”
“No! I miss home. I hate this place here! And I hate you here!”
Jin stayed quiet for a moment. “You hate me?” he asked, his stomach aching painfully.
“No…” Ryo mumbled silently. “But I hate how you are here. You are not nice. You are not my cool and fun brother here.”
“But…” Jin couldn’t even hide the miserable tune in his voice a bit. “I’m…”
“No!” Ryo interrupted him. “I don’t want to talk. Go away!”
“I won’t!” Jin looked at Ryo both through both begging and determined eyes. “I’m so sorry for everything. But I can’t leave you now… like some sort of coward.”
“Fine.” Ryo grumbled, deciding to ignore his brother for now. “Then stay.”
“Truth is…” Jin started again, ignoring the fact that his brother didn’t even look at him. In terms of being stubborn they were definitely able to keep up with each other. “…the reason for everything… It was a difficult situation.” he continued to explain when Ryo didn’t say anything. “I didn’t want you to worry. I wanted you to have fun and be carefree, like a teenager should be. That’s why I didn’t tell you what was going on at my job. The case Kame and I are working at is a political one. It’s dangerous. There was a professor we found dead and thought he was killed. In the end we found out that he committed suicide, but still…he did that because of this case. There are spies around us, investigating us. That’s why I freaked out when you got attacked. That’s why I was so tensed up and nervous and not myself at all. I even got threatening letters concerning you. I couldn’t bring you into danger.”
Ryo stayed quiet at that, then he sighed. “You could have told me, then I would have understood. I’m not stupid, you know?”
“Of course you are not stupid, but I didn’t want you to worry or be afraid.” Jin admitted silently.
Ryo opened his eyes a bit, staring at the wall for a moment, then he sighed in frustration. For the first time since days he looked at Jin directly. “You really think the feeling of being unwanted and hated and misunderstood is better than feeling scared? Are you stupid!?”
“I didn’t want it to be like that. I couldn’t hide my tension any better…” Jin argued, trying his best to convince the younger one. “I’m not feeling good about this. Please believe me… You are the most important for me. I’m so sorry for hurting you.”
Ryo stayed quiet for a moment. Eye in eye with his brother it was damn difficult to stay angry or stubborn. Before he could say anything, Jin looked at him miserably. “Did I ruin it for us? Did I ruin our relationship?”
Ryo struggled a bit with himself, feeling annoyed that he wasn’t able to push Jin away, but he was way too relieved and glad that he finally got an explanation for his brother's strange behaviour. And that Jin turned back into his kind and beloved older brother. “You are such a pain, Onii-chan…” he grumbled.
Jin had to grin at that. “That’s my job as a bigger brother.”
Ryo frowned. “Yes, awesome. You are really good at it.”
Jin smiled warmly, realizing how a huge rock dropped down his chest. For the first time since weeks he was feeling good and almost happy again. “Hey, petite…”
“Don’t call me like that!”
Jin smirked. “I want to hug you.”
Ryo blinked at that, before he frowned. “No way! I’m not the touchy type…” he glared when Jin was approaching him, trying to kick the older one away. But Jin was stronger than he was, soon hugging him and messing around with him. “Stop it!” Ryo squealed. “Go and hug Kame-kun instead! Maybe he likes to be suffocated…”
For a moment Jin paused, blushing slightly, wondering how Ryo even realized what was going on between him and Kame. “Kame…?” he stuttered. “Really Ryo, you are imagining things…”
“Yes.” Ryo snorted. “As if. I bet you are dreaming of his pretty face every night… of his long eyelashes and huge sad eyes. And these lovely moles…” He laughed at Jin’s embarrassed and annoyed face. “I didn’t think he would be your type though. Yuu said you like them more aggressive…”
“You know.” Jin mumbled grimly. “Now I want to hug you even more…”
“HEY! Stop it!!”
******
Kame almost dropped out of the door again, when Jin smiled at him brightly, hugging him tightly out of the blue.
“Jin…” Kame had to giggle a bit. “I just wanted to call you… to talk with you about the letter…”
“Shut up.” Jin grinned, closing the door with one of his feet, before he grabbed Kame’s neck, pulling the other into a heated kiss. Kame knew other things should have been more important now, besides that he was still dealing with the phone call he had received earlier that day, but he couldn’t help it, Jin was too mesmerizing.
They dropped down into Kame’s bed, their fingers and hands entangled, lips almost ravishing each other. It had been long for Kame that he was able to give in to a person like that. Jin was the first one he felt something for since years already. Till now Kame had always been addicted to work, but Jin was able to open something up inside him.
Kame enjoyed every minute of their night (or rather aftermoon) together. Jin’s lips were roaming over his body, his fingers touching him skilfully until Kame moaned in bliss. He wondered how often Jin already did that before, because he was almost too skilful, but then he decided not to care too much about this. Because right now Jin was with him and this was the only thing that counted for him.
Jin’s fingers touched Kame’s cheek softly, his lips kissing his collarbone and his chest. Kame chuckled a bit when Jin stroked over his sides, his hot breath tickling his skin a bit. His own hands were diving through Jin’s hair now, trying to feel it and to touch as much of Jin’s body as possible.
In Kame’s opinion their first time together was almost perfect. Almost, because perfect would have been boring… and with Jin it was special. Jin was unusually tender and sweet, and hot and passionate at the same time. His hips were rocking against Kame’s slowly first, carefully, before his movements became faster and rougher, making Kame moan and sigh irregularly. It hurt at the beginning, slightly, because Kame hadn't been together like this with someone since months already. Or even longer. But Jin's kisses, his touches, his fingers wandering over his skin, his teasing pinches, the way he was pushing into him over and over again until Kame was moaning in bliss... it made him forget everything else.
Almost perfect. Kame had to smile a bit. He loved it when something was almost perfect. Though being a perfectionist himself, he hated it when something was perfect. And this here was almost perfect because they both had been so full of lust that it didn't last long. It was heated and a bit rough, all their suppressed feelings appearing on the surface. Kame's lips felt a bit swollen from all their kissing, his body aching slightly from the way Jin had moved inside him. But it was simply amazing. Kame smiled a bit, placing a kiss on Jin's chest, before he rested his head against it. When was the last time he had felt that good? He closed his eyes, thinking about the time before everything started, before he met Jin. It was so lonely... As dangerous and nerve-wracking as this case was, at least it brought him Jin.
The picture of this woman popped up in his mind for a moment, before Kame's eyes widened out of a sudden. He jumped out of the bed, running towards his desk and angling for Yamamoto-sensei’s letter. He smiled happily when he realized that Jin followed him, wrapping his arms around Kame's waist, his chin resting on Kame’s shoulder. “Never stop working, do you?” he whispered into Kame’s ear.
Kame blushed a bit. “Sorry.” He turned his head, placing a soft kiss on Jin’s lips. “Just…” His eyes widened. “I realized what is off with the letter.”
“What?” Jin asked in interest.
Kame pointed at one of the last lines. I hope you’ll find the woman.
“I don’t understand…” Jin mumbled.
“She is alive.” Kame whispered, his eyes gleaming out of a sudden. “He implied that she is alive…”
Just...where the hell was she?
