Okay, first of all:
YAY!!!! Meryl Streep won the Oscar for the best actress in a leading role!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After I followed some discussions, I can't help it:
Geez, guys, can't we just be happy to see him in a new drama? ><

I heard about some fan reactions, like: Oh no, maybe it's a RL-documentary and he is married for real!?
(????)

You know what this drama reminds me of? Smap's special dramas. I know a lot of fans of the younger groups, don't follow Smap, but Smap actually had a lot of Drama specials - last year for example: The Tomato-Murder case. They all played themselves and one staff member got murdered. So...that's also a RL-documentary?

I also don't see this as him playing another Daddy-role. It's comedy after all - that's a different genre.
For me this drama is not a real, normal drama. It's for Kanjani-promotion, which is good of course. I hope they will have cool roles and make something hilarious out of this. :D

I don't think this drama will have high ratings, but I don't think this drama was made to attract everyone. It sounds more like a present from them to their fans. I hope for the guys to have fun and give us something weird and fun - they deserve it to get this promotion!

I'm not a huge romance and comedy drama fan myself. Crime and Human are my favourite genres, but I'll be looking forward to this.
A good actor takes risks - even if the outcome might be strange or if the ratings are not that good.
That's why I will always appreciate Ryo's dramas and Kame's and also Takki's. These are the guys that are taking risks and choose drama roles they like, new and different things and also characters and plots that push them to their limits.
That's something I really feel thankful for towards them <3

Yesterday Yuki and I were discussing with go_chan2011 and sweetspicyhot about Kimura and how gorgeous he is. Well, I think they are still wondering why I'm so madly in love with this guy. :D

So, here some explanation:
Besides that this guy is absolutely handsome, he is also a gorgeous actor.

But there is a reason why he and Smap are so popular:
Kimura and Smap are the reason why Japanese idols are what they are today. When Smap debuted they suffered from a lack of popularity - actually whole JE was loosing popularity. But instead of giving up, these guys went for it: TV-shows, Dramas, CMs - they changed the image of the music entertainment industry.
Arashi's TV-shows?
Yamapi's CMs?
Cartoon KT?
Janiben?
Musicians and Singers in Dramas?
It's all because Smap started it. Because they were loosing popularity, they decided to bring their group to a new level.
Kimura starred in a lipstick CM - a legendary one. He was one of the very first idols advertising a female product. Over night fans 'stole' the posters with him to have them for their own ^^

Then he got a role in an important drama... and tadaaaaaaaaa Smap's popularity was rising.
Nakai gave his all to get a TV-show for them to show the audience their funny and dorky sides.
And with that, they basically won ^^
That's what Smap did and why they are so popular though they might be the most awesome singers.


For years Kimura was the image of the Gatsby campaign - till this year. From now on Matsuda Shota will be in their CMs.
Kimura's Gatsby CMs were epic (so, poor Shota...following this will be very difficult for him)

So true! It's one of the things they're doing for their 8th anniversary, right? I am not expecting too much from this but Ryo is there so it would be better than the worst, at least! And the members are there, too. It's like a jackpot prize on the lottery. Fans should just be happy and enjoy it. I don't think it'll suck so much, anyway. They've grown so much through the years after all!

It's just weird, you know. I wonder what came first, the idea of this drama or Jin's marriage? Aside from the plot's similarity to Nagase's, it's "a bit" in time to Jin's marriage. I wonder how the two talk about this. So hilarious! :)))))

Okay, of course not all of them are brilliant actors, but they don't need to be brilliant. All of them together is just amazing!!
KT-fandom is wishing for something like that since years - and some of us fans keep complaining. This kinda annoys me ><

This drama is a Kanjani-drama for me. They play themselves... I mean, how serious can this possibly be? ^^ It's to promote them of course. That's why it's awesome. All 7 of them in ONE drama!!

It's definitely not going to be bad, it will be fun. And their fans will like it of course. For me it's like a present from them to their fans. ^^

The timing is weird - defintely. I wonder if this was to promote Jin's marriage a bit. Or to make it look a bit better in his fans' eyes. Because at the moment Jin is having it tough.

Oh yes it's a RL documentary. Exactly like 8uppers, Yokai ningen bem oh and yes Kaibutsu-kun. These are also RL documentaries. ^^

Yay Meryl Streep, she deserves it. She has been nominated for more academy awards than any other actor. So finally her third win from 17 nominations,

And i am excited about Ryo's new drama, and once they see it I am sure others will be excited too. I am sorry for Pi's drama and it's low ratings. I actually really like it. i think that the funeral premise threw people off.

Oh I do not wonder about why you love Kimura. i love Kimura too and i am happy to learn more about him. I think that Kimura is beautiful and strong. I think i only said that I could not add SMAP to my list of bands to learn about and investigate right now because I didn't have so much time. But if you keep creating awesome posts like this it will be easy learn about them. :D

Follow your post from aramatheydidnt. hahaha, yes, Im a stalker.!!!! but I have big intuition that you are Kimura-bias , so i jump here. TRUE! SMAP is the one to revive the JE wave. I read the book The Encyclopedia of Japanese pop culture [Book] by Mark Schilling, the book lists the most outstanding and influential examples of Japanese pop culture. Beside Doraemon, Pink lady, Maruko chan, there's SMAP!!!! SMAP is representative for JE, you can see how big it's that^^. I dont wan to brag about my bias much hahahaha.
I will miss Kimura in Gatsby a lot >.< although like shota, Kimura Gatsby gets stuck in my mind already

Kimura is just plain love!! I started to watch drama because of Kimura and when I saw one of his drama´s I wanted to see them all. I´ve seen the most of them!! i love him in gift and I love his character Haru!!

Because I watched his drama´s I started to watch other drama´s wich starred Matsumoto Jun and because of Matsumoto Jun I found Arashi (which is like my greatest love on earth) They are my ichiban! SO I guess I can thank Kimura for that!! Lately I watched SMAP's sekai hitotsu dake no hana, in which you could see Kimura form close-up!! He's toooooo cuuuute and working so hard! Love him to death!

I don't think I'll hurt Ryo's feelings if I say I'm not really excited about this drama. Idk, maybe I even end up liking it, but for now I'm just very WTF about it... I think if he and Eito weren't playing themselves would make it sound better... I know this is not a documentary and I know it's a remake but still... it is still very awkward in a JE universe. My expectations for an awesome lead role... *sobs* #foreverungrateful

Oh, I have no problems at all with that, it really does sound a bit weird :D
But I was a bit annoyed at those fans who were wondering if this will be a RL-adaption and if Ryo is married for real (?????)
Also the Daddy-role complaints sound a bit ridiculous to me. I mean...it's not like this is going to be a family drama ^_^ That's why it's been announced as comedy. (though I love Yuka)

For me this drama is more like a present from Kanjani to their fans. Like 8Uppers.
It's not exactly a serious drama for me, just something new and different and hilarious - and to promote Kanjani. All guys in one drama is just <3 for me ^^

I have to admit I'm super-excited about possible guest appearances, because they already announced that there will be other actors and singers making an appearance.
I'm hoping for Uchi...but well... I don't think it will happen >< (But if there is a tiny possibility to see these two together again, then it will be in this drama...)

But after this here I want a serious role again!! Crime please!!!!! ^__________^

Well, knowing Ryo and his widely advertised adventures in Roppongi it would have to be a very recent marriage... or a very unhappy one. XDD But I can't blame them for the panic, I mean the timing was really unfortunate given the latest AJ events... not that anyone could guess! ^^'

Well, but after reading more details about this drama, I actually stopped to compare this with Jin. I wonder if they changed the plot a bit... because well, Jin's marriage really came out of a sudden after all.

I actually think it's the other way round: If you are married, you wouldn't do such a drama. Why attract attention? :D
Besides that I think that for the next 1-2 years no one will marry... Poor TOKIO/V6/Smap/KK ><

I'm actually really happy to see Subaru in a drama again - he doesn't seem to be into acting much, but still...I like to see him in dramas :D
