Yaaaaaaaaaay. Thank you! Thank you! Already off to such a promising beginning. I love the whole moodiness of the start. I actually like the beach in fall or winter, before the crowds and hot sun come along.:D But here it is perfect to use the elements to drive Kame into the little hut. To me a notebook and pen are irresistible, and so they prove to Kame as well. I think it is wonderful that he writes in the notebook--it turns out to be a sort of message in a bottle-- a real SOS.
Poor Kame and his lousy situation at home--though apparently less lousy than some others. I love his crew at school and the familiar faces, especially Pi. Ypu know I have a soft spot for him. :D Yet even they can't cure his loneliness for long. I do love how you introduce Ryo, and set up the mystery of who wrote in the notebook.
