I'll try to explain it. You know, it's all about what Ryo says at the very end: “The way back to life is a straight one, the way to death opens up different paths.”
Yoko's brother died, but knew that Yoko was going crazy without him. So he decided to wait. In the end it was just a coincidence that Yoko saved this boy called Ryo, who had the same guardian like his brother.
With the help of Yoko's brother Ryo slipped Takki's attention and found Yoko. Now, by that time, Ryo was already on his way back to life, that's why he was so weak at this place with Yoko - his real self was getting stronger. But he wanted to give Yoko some strength to carry on, just as Yoko's brother asked him to. And because Yoko saved him - Ryo wanted to do something for him, hence he agreed to the wish of Yoko's brother.
That's what basically happened. ^^ Takki let Ryo do this for a few days, because...well...he loved Ryo, but at one point he had to take Ryo back, so that Ryo could wake up in RL again. While Yoko still had to struggle on his own for some time and realize things by himself. ^^
