Can you decide on your own destiny?
“What’s happening Jun? Is he alright? Will he be alright?” Jin’s voice sounded so desperate that Jun winced slightly.
“I don’t know it yet…”
“Is he already dead?”
“No.” Jun answered immediately to calm Jin down.
“He is dead, right? You just want to spare me.”
Jun sighed at that. “I swear, he is not dead. Just believe me, alright?”
Jin wavered obviously, biting his lips. “Is Sho really a good doctor?”
“He is one of the best.” Jun told him calmly.
Jin stayed quiet for a moment. “I almost killed him, Jun.” he mumbled silently. “I can never forgive myself.”
“I know.” Jun agreed carefully, uncertain about how to lighten Jin’s mood. In the end he knew that there was no way to do that. Jin had almost killed his brother. There was no denying that. Still there always was the explanation that he hadn’t been himself. He should concentrate about what was going on now, not what had happened before. “But maybe you could concentrate on things that are more important now? Like him surviving… or how you two could go back to what you were?”
“Yes.” Jin answered absent-mindedly. “He is more important now than my guilty feelings.” He paused. “But still… it will take me long to get over what I did. When I close my eyes, I still see him in front of me, how I…”
“Stop it.” Jun interrupted the other. “You don’t need to repeat it over and over again all the time.”
“I should repeat it over and over again, to not forget it.”
“You won’t forget it.” Jun told him insistently, a very rare caring tune in his voice. “Never, even if you don’t remind yourself of it all the time. That’s why you don’t need to repeat it all the time.”
Jin sighed a bit when he opened his eyes and stared at the starry sky. How long would he hear and see these pictures in front of him now? Forever? How long was that… He rolled to the side a bit. But Jun was right. Ryo’s health state was more important now. He should concentrate on that rather than on his own dark feelings.

Takki felt his heart jumping in relief and joy. He turned around, showing Jun a bright and warm smile. “I’m so relieved!! I was worrying like hell.” He sat down next to the other, rubbing over his hair, before he looked at Jun piercingly. “So he is completely okay again?”
Jun smiled warily. “Well, completely okay might be an exaggeration…”
Takki frowned immediately. “What do you mean with that?”
Jun sighed. “Why the heck do I feel like a pre-schooler with you? Honestly… you and Ryo are the perfect match for each other.”
“That’s not the answer to my question.”
Jun shook his head a bit. “Aren’t you afraid of me at all? I am a Vampire! And a pretty strong one.”
“No, I’m not afraid.”
“Okay.” Jun shrugged, deciding to go with the flow. “He is okay. He is alive. Things escalated, so he still needs some medicine and the treatment of a doctor. But we have all that at home. So honestly, no need to worry. He will be okay in no go. Our wounds heal fast.”
“Yes.” Takki smiled sadly. “You physical wounds do. But your psychical don’t.”
Jun blinked in surprise. “That’s true.” He looked at Takki in interest. “Are you sure you are a Human.”
“Yes.“ Takki smiled.
“Hm.” Jun leaned back. “Then there is still hope…”
“I’ll take that as a compliment then.” Takki chuckled.
“You are allowed to do that.” Jun smiled, then he got earnest again. “So, does Ryo have these psychical wounds too?”
“Sometimes it seemed as if he was carrying so much pain inside him.” Takki mused, not knowing yet that he had actually hit the point here. “And even if he hadn’t such wounds before… now he will have them.”
Jun leaned back, looking at Takki insistently. “Are you sure you will be able to look after him? Will you be able to protect him? Will he be safe with you? Also emotionally? Will you stay at his side no matter what?”
Takki stayed quiet for a moment, then he smiled slightly. “No one can be sure about such things, Jun-kun. Agreeing to them now just makes me a liar. I can’t tell you for sure that everything will go alright, but I can reassure you that I want it to go alright. I would give my life for him.”
“Don’t get me wrong…“ Jun sighed deeply, his eyes getting darker again. “But I never thought a Human would be worth the effort. Actually I still don’t believe in it.”
Takki smiled sadly. “Of course you will think something like that.” He paused. “When can I see him?”
Jun shrugged. “I honestly don’t care. Whenever you want.”
“Okay then.” Takki got up. “I’ll just gather some things, then we can go…”
“What?” Jun blinked. “You want to go there right now!? Deal with his brother? And the whole mess?”
Takki smiled a bit. “You said that his brother almost killed him in the heat of the moment. So he must feel pretty crushed. Honestly said… I don’t believe there will be a better moment to meet him than now. Besides that I don’t want to stay away from Ryo longer than necessary. I want to see him and check on him, so that I know that he will be alright. I want to be there for him. No matter what.”

“You brought him to our place!?” Jin asked in serious shock when Jun sat down on the roof deck right next to him.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Why not?”
Jin sighed. “Are you kidding me. He is a Human!”
“No, really!?” Jun pulled an eyebrow up teasingly. “I must have missed something.” He laughed a bit over Jin’s angry expression. “He is okay. I wouldn’t have brought him along if he wasn’t. Honestly said… he surprised me a bit. I can’t believe that he is a Human. He is more like a good Hunter or something similar.”
Jin sighed. “This doesn’t make it really better, but at least it reassures me a bit.”
“So, now that he is here you can meet him.” With that Jun pulled Jin up, pulling him along..
Jin stopped in surprise, looking at Jun through dark, gleaming eyes. “What if I don’t want to?”
Jun sneered at that. “Weren’t you the one who wanted to make up to his brother for almost killing him? Well… this is what I call the perfect opportunity.”
For a moment Jin stayed quiet, then he sighed in amusement. “You are not that wrong, I guess.” With a swift movement he jumped down from the roof deck, deciding to go before he would change his mind again. He still hated to do this, but Jun was right. This was the perfect opportunity. He could show Ryo how much he meant to him and how much he wanted him to forgive him for what had happened. With that Jin jumped through the window, right into Ryo’s room.
Takki turned around a bit, not really surprised by the way Jin appeared in front of him. Jin frowned a bit at that. So he was used to that? He sighed, not wanting to think about when or how Ryo crawled into Takki’s room like that. Takki bowed a bit, his eyes wearing this inscrutable expression. He seemed to be quite strong and confident…but in a completely different way than Jun. If he was afraid of Jin, he was hiding it really well.
“That’s my brother Jin.” Ryo told Takki, shifting around nervously.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Takki said politely.
Jin titled his head a bit. Apparently Jun was right, this guy really wasn’t afraid of him, and actually Jin didn’t really like that. But when he saw Ryo’s frightened glance, he sighed a bit, forcing a small smile to his lips. “Hello…nice to meet you too.” He could feel how his body was tensing up during this situation, so he drew back a bit, deciding to leave these two alone. It was the most he could do right now… he couldn’t say any more or do anything else. Not yet. He still had to get used to this here.
When he had left them alone, Takki took Ryo’s hand. “See, I told you…”
“You still frightened me like death with your sudden appearance…” Ryo mumbled.
Takki smiled a bit, his fingers wandering over Ryo’s face. “You have to talk…” He crossed his fingers with Ryo’s, wavering a bit. “Ryo, there is something we need to talk about…”
Ryo’s senses were awakened immediately at that. He looked at Takki thoughtfully. “There is a problem?”
“I am Human.” Takki mumbled.
“So what?”
Takki bit his lips, looking at Ryo warily. “I will die one day…”
For a moment Ryo stayed quiet. Of course he had thought about that before, but hearing it so clearly out of Takki’s mouth was taking him aback. He didn’t know what to say to that, until he felt Takki’s hand stroking over his hair.
“Sorry for mentioning this right now.” Takki told him softly. “We’ll have better moments and places to talk about this.”

Sho closed the door behind him carefully, but before he could even take another step, he could feel Jun’s arms around his body, hugging him tightly. For a short moment Sho could feel the other’s lips roaming over his face, his neck, his shoulders. Sho moved into Jun’s touches, then he laughed. “What are you doing here?”
“Showing you how grateful I am that you saved the small one.” Jun told the other bluntly, his breath right next to Sho’s ear. He sighed a bit. “But beside that, I think you are a sick man, Sho.”
Sho pulled an eyebrow up. “ I am?”
“Yes, for being so desperate to stay with me, though I can’t even give you love.” Jun paused here. “Or rather: I can’t promise you love.”
Sho smiled a bit. “You know Jun. Some months ago you still hated the Humans to death and now you just went to one of them and brought him to this place. You were so confused and irritated by Ryo, but now you love him like a brother. You and Jin just shared a random and loose relationship, now he suddenly trusts you, like you are his counsellor. I think a lot of things can change…”
“Still, I can’t promise you anything.”
“Some weeks ago you weren’t even looking at me. You were just using me for your own satisfaction”. Sho looked out of the window. “You weren’t talking to me, you didn’t even let me look at you. I don’t even know why I stayed with you for so long.”
“I don’t understand that either.” Jun agreed, surprised himself that he felt slightly guilty here.
“That’s why I can’t leave now.” Sho explained calmly. “Now that you finally let me in, I won’t go away.” He paused. “Just tell me one thing: Am I a friend for you? Someone you can trust?”
Jun stayed quiet for a moment, looking at Sho insistently while he thought about this question. Then he sighed silently. “I brought you along to save Ryo. I don’t know anything about words like ‘friends’ and ‘companions’, but I do trust you.”
Sho didn’t say anything to that. He smiled silently. So Jun had accepted him. Even if he would never love him, he would see him as a companion from now on. Finally it was something Sho could hold on to. It was more than hope, because it was a chance for a future with Jun.
“H~E~L~L~O!” a female voice suddenly yelled through the house. Jun drew back from Sho immediately. “Did you hear that?”
Sho blinked in confusion. “Pretty clear.”
Jun sighed a bit, feeling slightly frustrated about this interruption. Then he slipped out of the room, feeling how Sho was following him. When he saw Jin rushing through the corridor, he was feeling relieved. “Jin…”
Jin turned around, looking at them in surprise. “It hadn’t been one of you, right?”
Jun shook his head, his eyes shifting to Takki who just left Ryo’s room to check what was going on. “Was there just the voice of a woman?”
“So…” Jin tensed up a bit. “It means a stranger is here.”
“Really?” Ryo peaked into the corridor. He had heard voices, pretty much from all four guys, and he got curious. But to his surprise and slight annoyance four pair of eyes were eying him angrily now.
“I told you rest and wait!” Takki told him calmly.
“Go to bed, stupid brother!” Jin hissed angrily.
“What are you doing here?” Sho shook his head, scolding him slightly. “I told you that you aren’t allowed to get up yet.”
“Yes…are you stupid or what? Just because you escaped death, doesn’t mean you can play around with your life now.” Jun grumbled. He had actually wanted to say more, but then there it was again, the woman’s voice.
Jin turned around, scanning the area in front of him, then his eyes widened in surprise. In front of him there was a young female Vampire, with long black hair. She looked almost fragile and she was pregnant. Very pregnant.
“I’m Mika.” she bowed politely. “It’s such a pleasure to finally meet you and your brother.” She smiled warmly. “The others will be here in one minute.”
“The others?” Jun blinked in confusion.
“AH!” Ryo suddenly smiled happily. “You are Mika-chan! I remember your face.”
Jin blinked in surprise, for a moment he had almost forgotten that Ryo was actually supposed to stay in bed. “How do you know her, Ryo-chan?”
“She is one of the three persons I saw in my mind.” Ryo explained. “You really saved us, Mika-chan…”
“I know.” Mika smiled proudly. “My Takuya is a hero. And Tomo-chan is not that bad either.”
Jun sighed a bit at that, looking at Jin nervously. “What’s going on here?”
“You are asking me?” Jin shook his head. “I have no clue either.”
“Great.” Jun grumbled. “The only one having a clue is the one Vampire no one of us understands.”
Ryo frowned a bit at that, but decided not to complain. It was the first time that they all were together here, without any fights or secrets or lies. And above that Takki was with them. Even if he wasn’t really accepted yet, he was here. So Ryo wanted to enjoy this moment. Hence he just took Takki’s hand, secretly, and held it tightly. But before he could say anything to explain what was going on, Mika turned around a bit. “Here they are. Takuya! Tomo-chan!“
Jin rubbed over his head in confusion, still not sure what was going on. He trusted Ryo’s feeling of course, he had always been good with deciding whom to trust and whom to avoid. And the moment he saw the two men running towards Mika, Jin’s eyes widened in surprise. Slowly the realization sank into him. He stared at Yamapi in disbelief, making the latter blush a bit under his intense glance.
“Tomohisa…?” He looked at Yamapi in surprise. “You found me…”
