I think what makes this fic work is the depth of jin and Ryo's friendship. Jin is able to wait and let Ryo come to him because he knows Ryo so well. My favorite part of the whole fic is the bracelet Jin makes for Ryo. And this line is the best, "Just remember… whenever you feel like cutting…or hurting yourself… then you have to cut the bracelet too. Remember me then and that I made it for you, okay?” Sometimes when people are hurting themselves, they just need a reason not too, just a memory or a person standing in their way until the bad moment passes and they can remember who they are again and what they mean to their friends and family.

I have a friend who used to cut, and she has scars along both forearms. i did not know her during the time she used to hurt herself, I met her four years ago as a work colleague who later became a good friend. She is better now, with a full life, a great career and a really bright future all around. i have tried to talk to her about the fandom and fic writing in general, but she doesn't really get it. i only mention her because i think she would like this fic. And that is the highest praise I can give you, Thanks so much for this. It is one of my favorites. Hugs, hearts, and just damn good writing, :D :D :D
