Sho blinked a bit when he woke up, looking around in confusion. He was still lying on the sofa in Eri-chan’s room. But no Jun around… It was still so early in the morning, just 4 AM. Where did he go to?

Sho angled for his bathrobe and his slippers before he padded downstairs, looking around a bit. Nothing. But then his sharp eyes recognized the sun-porch door being a bit opened. He walked outside, scanning the area. After a few minutes he found Jun sitting on the pier, his feet diving into the sea’s water.

“I’m sorry.” Sho said silently when he sat down next to Jun.

Jun looked at him in surprise before he took Sho’s hand into his. “For what?”

“I’m sorry that I can’t give you this.” Sho smiled sadly. “It’s the only wish I can’t fulfil.” He blinked in surprise when Jun chuckled. For a moment Sho thought that Jun’s shock was so deep that he got insane here…

But Jun just put his arm around Sho’s shoulder, grinning a bit. “It’s okay, I guess. As long as you bear with me when I’m all grey and old one day, with hardly any hair anymore, forgetting my teeth in the bathroom all the time, while I tell my grand-nieces and nephews about the good old time when I was still a super-star.”

Sho grinned too now. “I’ll think about it. But just if you bear with me when I’m all old and weak, my voice sounding like a rasp, grumbling and complaining all the time, especially about the weather. And always scolding my grand-nieces and nephews about how much I learned in school in comparison to them and that they should take ikebana classes…”

“The both of us sitting here when we are old? In a small house at the sea…” Jun smiled a bit. “I could like that…”

“Yes.” Sho smiled back, leaning against his friend’s shoulder. Then he got earnest again. “But… is it really okay like that?”

Jun sighed. “I don’t wanna lie to you.” he admitted. “It will always be a problem for me and it will be always my biggest wish to be a father.” He paused. “But I guess sometimes in life we have to make sacrifices. And no matter how much I wish for it… I wouldn’t be happy with having kids if I wasn’t able to share them with you. In my life you are the most important.”

Sho’s eyes grew wide at that confession, hearing Jun saying something like that was really rare. Normally they understood each other without saying how much they loved each other and how the other was precious to them, but in this specific situation it was important to hear it. “I feel the same.” Sho answered. “I guess I just can’t live without you.”

Before Jun could answer something he frowned a bit, looking at the place next to Sho insistently. “Ghost?” he asked piercingly. “Since when are you listening?”

Sho nearly jumped up at that, turning his head and eyeing their ghost who was sitting next to him. “You are here?”

“I never left.” Ghost explained, putting his hand on his chest. “I feel so touched…” he sighed out theatrically.

Jun rolled his eyes at that. “It wasn’t that cheesy!”

“Ah…” Ghost smiled. “But I always enjoy it when Humans are honest to each other.” He looked at them curiously. “So you enjoyed it?”

“Yes.” Jun smiled a bit. “Thank you for giving me the chance to be a father once in my life.” For him this here had been the chance of his life, experiencing what it was like to have children, even when he might never have them in real life. Eri and Ken-chan would become someone else’s children, but not his and Sho’s. They would never become fathers. But for Ghost giving them the possibility to taste this life they would never have, he was eternally grateful.

Ghost nodded his head in understanding, before he got up, stretching a bit. Sho eyed him in surprise, knitting his eyebrows a bit. “Ghost… are you disappearing?”

“Well…” their ghost’s voice sounded almost sad. “You two don’t need me anymore…”

Jun stared at the almost invisible figure in front of them, watching how the ghost’s smile slowly disappeared. “But…”

“There is just one more station for me.”  With that Ghost disappeared from the house, leaving the two surprised guys.

Nino grinned brightly when Ohno had finished his phone talk with Jun and explained to him what he heard from the others. “They make it sound like a honeymoon.”

“For them it was, I guess.” Ohno smiled, then he grinned brightly. “I can’t believe they still keep it as a secret.”

Nino smiled warmly. “But actually… they stopped pretending, right? A few weeks before they were still hiding the truth, now it’s different…”

“Who would have guessed that Jun wanted kids?” Ohno mused, then he looked at Nino warily. “Talking about…”

“No.” Nino stated firmly.

“No?” Ohno grinned at his friend, pulling him closer a bit.

Nino put his arms around his friend’s neck, smiling almost impishly. Ohno smiled at that. Nino was in such a good mood recently as if a huge rock had fallen from his shoulders. “I like kids.” Nino explained, already pecking Ohno’s lips, before he placed a soft kiss on the other’s nose. “But I’m not the fatherly type. I’m happy with how things are now.”

Ohno smiled against Nino’s lips. It felt like they had just fallen in love again… as if it was the first time they went out with each other, the first time they touched each other. Everything was so new… though it was actually the same. He hugged the other tightly, grinning a bit. “Maybe we should throw a little party with the others? We haven’t celebrated in months…”

“Great! A party sounds always nice” Nino smiled contently. “I’ll call Aiba-chan…”

Ohno nodded his head, grabbing his own phone to send a message to Jun, while Nino already called Aiba’s number. Nino blinked a bit in confusion. “I can’t reach him.”

“Maybe he is out? Or meeting someone?” Ohno suggested.

“Maybe…” Nino mused, though he felt something piercing his chest painfully. A bad feeling. He couldn’t tell what it was, but a almost unrecognizable feeling inside him was telling him that something was off…or rather had been off since a few weeks already. It was just a feeling and Nino didn’t have any proves at all, but then…he had always been sensitive to such things, though he couldn’t really explain them. He looked at his lover through almost begging eyes. “Maybe we should drop by to check on him?” he suggested. “It’s so beautiful outside. We could take a walk…”

“Well…” Ohno smiled. He had always liked Nino’s gentleness and caring towards his friends. There was so much more to Nino than the cheeky attitude he often had. One just had to look a bit deeper. “Aiba-chan lives quite near us. A walk sounds nice… some ice cream on the way for us…”

“Sounds good for me.” Nino nodded in agreement, already grabbing the keys. Ohno smiled as he followed the latter, thinking that Nino was actually right. The weather was so nice, warm and comfortable. Such a pity that he couldn’t take Nino’s hand outside. One hour later they were standing in front of Aiba’s apartment, knocking and ringing at the door.

“He is not here…” Nino mumbled. Again he didn’t know why or even what it was…but something inside him was feeling really uncomfortable…
